Most extended healthcare benefit plans cover our services. Our therapists are Registered Psychotherapists, Registered Psychotherapists (Qualifying), and Registered Social Workers. Please check with your insurance provider to understand the details of your coverage.

After payment for each session is collected, we provide a receipt, which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

Depending on which therapist you see and the type of service, our fees vary. Our present fees range from $150 – $165 per 50-minute session for individuals (couples session rates are slightly higher).

Yes! Online therapy affords you the possibility to be in the comfort of your own home or other private space of your choice. It is also beneficial for individuals with physical disabilities, those who live in remote areas, and those who wish to skip the travel time! Research on virtual therapy shows that it is just as effective as in-person therapy and that people can experience the same benefits, healing, and relief.

At Open Door Therapist, we reserve your appointment time just for you. Late cancellations and no-shows create gaps in your therapist’s day that could have been filled by another person waiting for services.

We do understand that you may need to modify or cancel appointments from time to time. That is no problem! We require 48 hours of notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Appointments can be changed in your Jane App account or by emailing us at

Those who provide less than 48 hours notice or miss their appointment without notice will be charged the full session fee to the card on file.

Every person has unique needs and goals for therapy. Therefore, the time you spend in therapy truly depends on what is being worked through. Once we have a better understanding of your symptoms, current situation, and treatment plan, we can estimate an approximate timeline. In general, some people can begin to notice positive change after a few sessions; however, most individuals require between 10 and 20 sessions (or more), to experience transformative healing, shift their beliefs, and develop mental strength.

We understand that finding the right fit in therapy is important! Building trust and rapport with your therapist is one of the factors that will help you feel supported and safe in your therapy journey. Our therapists work from a trauma-informed lens, are trained in various modalities, and offer unique schedules for sessions. We offer free 20-minute virtual or telephone consultations with our therapists so you can speak with the therapist, share a little bit about what is bringing you into therapy, and listen to how the therapist can support you with what you are going through.
